What “without losing quality” really means
JPG is already a lossy format. Every re-encode can drop fine detail. The goal is usually “small enough for the job” — not mathematically lossless. For web and messaging, a quality setting around 70–85 often looks fine while cutting a large share of the bytes.
Resize before you compress
A 4000px phone photo is far larger than most sites need. Resize to the display size first (for example 1200–1600px on the long edge), then compress. That almost always saves more than lowering quality alone.
How to do it on Bratora

Will compressing destroy my photo?
Moderate compression usually keeps photos usable. Extreme settings or repeated re-saves can introduce visible artifacts.
Is this the same as ZIP compression?
No. Image compressors rebuild the image with a lower quality/bitrate. ZIP only packs bytes without changing the picture.
Can I compress PNG the same way?
